Dr Natalia Povolotskaya

Dr Natalia Povolotskaya

Consultant Gynaecologist and Cancer Surgeon

FRCOG, Dip MedEd, FHEA

I offer rapid and individualised diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological cancers and complex benign gynaecological issues. I offer a broad range of surgery, this includes minimal access and open surgery. Minimal access surgery allows me to minimise my patients hospital stay and accelerate their recovery even in complex situations.

Since graduating with Distinction in my medical degree in 1997, I have dedicated my life to developing broad expertise in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology.

I have worked with some of the best surgeons during my training in the Southwest and the Southeast of England. I have GMC accreditation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. And Gynaecological Oncology as a subspecialty (subspecialisation requiring completion of a further three years of subspeciality training).

I have been a Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology since 2015. And have performed hundreds of complex surgeries. Some of my work has been featured on the Channel 4 programme “Shut-Ins”, (Episode “Claire’s Story”).

In my previous position as Chair of Wessex Gynaecological Cancer NetWork (2019-2022). I supported the Regional Audit on Ovarian Cancer and the setup of the Regional Genetics Multidisciplinary Meeting for familial gynecological cancers.

I now train the next generation of subspecialty trainees in Gynaeoncology in my capacity as an RCOG recognised Supervisor of Sub-speciality training in  Gynaecological Oncology and a Colposcopy Trainer.

I dedicate a significant part of my time to clinical research. I was a Principal Investigator for the now-completed FORECEE and SUCCOR studies. And am currently a Principal Investigator for the PROTECTOR study. I also have multiple medical publications.
