I have gained a great deal of experience in all aspects of gastroenterology, particularly disorders of the oesophagus, stomach and bowel, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. It is the nature of modern Gastroenterology that there needs to be co-operation with upper and lower gastrointestinal surgeons and I work closely with surgical colleagues. I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist with an NHS appointment at Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth for the last 8 years. I went to Oxford University Medical School and subsequently worked and trained at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Wexham Park, Barts, St Georges, St Helliers, Royal Hampshire County, and Southampton General Hospital.

I currently have ongoing research projects in reflux oesophagitis,. inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatic cancer, investigation of iron deficiency anaemia, and the use of probiotics in irritable bowel syndrome.
