I am an experienced gastroenterologist in a broad range of conditions and aim to provide an expert, well balanced opinion and take particular care to communicate this to my patients.
I qualified in London at Charing Cross and Westminster and completed my specialist training in gastroenterology at several centres of excellence including St Thomas' Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the specialised gastroenterology hospital, St Mark's Hospital.
I undertook a period of research at St Thomas' Hospital leading to my thesis in inflammatory bowel disease. I was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at Portsmouth in 1999.
I treat a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, particularly indigestion, reflux and dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease (colitis and Crohn's disease).
I am an experienced expert endoscopist and a National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme colonoscopist.

I am married to another doctor and have two teenage children, who all keep me fairly busy outside my work. I play hockey every week and am also a keen fisherman. I am interested in classical music and opera and regularly attend local concerts.
