BSc (Hons), MBBS, MRCS, FRCS (Tr & Orth)
I am a UK fellowship trained consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in all aspects of shoulder and elbow surgery. A consultant since 2015, I have up to date training and experience in modern arthroscopic (keyhole) and open surgical techniques. I can also help and advise with non-operative techniques where these may be more appropriate, such as injections and physiotherapy. I regularly attend courses and conferences in the UK and overseas, to keep up to date with the latest evidence, products and techniques.
I graduated from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Medical School in 2001. I was awarded an Army cadetship as a student, and went on to deploy on operational tours of Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Sierra Leone. I continue to serve in the Army, and have completed a Diploma in Trauma Surgery from the University of Swansea.
I trained in general orthopaedics as a registrar in the Wessex area, before undertaking specialist training in shoulder and elbow surgery as a senior clinical fellow at Southampton General Hospital, and also the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. I have presented research projects at regional and national conferences, and have a number of abstracts published in journals, including work on the treatment of frozen shoulder.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my young family, and like to keep fit by running and cycling. I have previously played squash to a high level, but now enjoy an occasional game when the opportunity arises. I am also an assistant leader for our local Scout Group.
