I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in hand and wrist problems. I trained at Cambridge and St Mary's Hospital, Paddington. In 2001 I spent a year in Capetown, South Africa undertaking a hand and trauma fellowship.
I have been a consultant in Portsmouth NHS Trust working at Queen Alexandra Hospital since 2002 as part of the hand surgery and trauma teams. I have combined this NHS work with service in the Royal Army Medical Corps and the deployments this has entailed. I have recently left the Army and my regular NHS general trauma commitment to concentrate on my hand and wrist surgery.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Christopher Hobbs at Spire include:
Orthopaedics
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Portsmouth Hospital.
I am married to Helen, a physiotherapist who founded Hobbs Rehabilitation. We have six children and two dogs. Any parenting or dog training advice is always welcome! I enjoy the Cresta Run, cricket and playing the cello.
