I have training and experience in cemented and cementless hip replacement techniques and use both in my arthroplasty.
I use a variety of replacement types, tailored to the individual patient's needs. These include ceramic bearing surfaces for younger and more active patients as well as metal on metal resurfacing which can allow a return to sporting activities.
I qualified from Birmingham University in 1989 and carried out my basic surgical training in Birmingham as well as a Master's degree in the surgery of trauma. I moved to Glasgow in 1996 for higher surgical training on the West of Scotland orthopaedic rotation.
I have completed a year's fellowship in Wellington, New Zealand in 2002, with specialist training in lower limb joint replacement and revision.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr David Dalton at Spire include:

I am married with three children. I have a keen interest in football, particularly the fortunes of Pompey, having grown up in the Portsmouth area and been a season ticket holder for several years at Fratton Park. I keep fit by cycling, taking part in Time Trial competitions and road racing.
