I am a Consultant Cardiologist and I was appointed at Wythenshawe Hospital in 2005. I am a general cardiologist practising in all aspects of cardiology, with a specialist interest in heart failure. I hold the highest national position in heart failure: Chair of the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH). I also have an interest in cardiology and cancer (cardio-oncology) and hold an appointment at the Christie Hospital, Manchester.
I am a honorary professor at the University of Manchester and have published my research extensively in major international journals. I am frequently invited to give lectures both nationally and internationally.

Simon Williams was appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester in 2007. His research group is currently investigating the influence of heart failure and cardiac transplantation on the immune system. Dr Williams has published over 100 scientific articles in leading journals.
