I am an experienced Consultant Cardiologist who leads the secondary care Heart Failure Service in East Cheshire. I am interested in all aspects of cardiology and I have a specialist interest in heart failure. I aim to provide early assessment of cardiac conditions to allow prompt and optimised treatment with a patient centered approach. I also implant pacemakers and complex devices for the treatment of heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms (implantable cardiac defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation devices). I hold the British Heart Rhythm Society certificate for device management.

I am happy to advise patients on preventative cardiology with a particular interest in both type I and II diabetes, cholesterol metabolism and high blood pressure. My other interests include abnormal heart rhythms, pre-operative assessment, blackouts and coronary artery disease. I have completed a higher research degree with multiple publications in major European Journals.

I have implanted >250 complex pacing devices including cardiac resynchronisation devices and implantable cardiac defibrillators, >500 pacemakers and >1,000 diagnostic coronary angiograms

I have worked as a consultant at Macclesfield District Hospital for two years. I completed my higher specialist training in the North West Deanery with sub-specialist training in heart failure including cardiac transplantation. I have completed a higher research degree (MD) studying the best method of pacing the heart after surgery including publications in major European clinical journals.
