I am a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with my NHS practice based at Mid Cheshire (Leighton) Hospital and the Hewitt Fertility Centre (HFC) Knutsford (Liverpool Women’s NHS FT).
I joined Mid Cheshire Hospitals as a consultant in 2012 after completing my training in the Mersey/Liverpool rotation.
My areas of special interest are subfertility and laparoscopic surgery including surgery for endometriosis and pelvic pain. I attended the Kiel School of Gynaecological Endoscopy in Germany in 2004. I am a British Fertility Society accredited specialist in pelvic ultrasound and was a BFS accredited trainer in pelvic ultrasound. I am also the deputy lead for gynaecology oncology at Leighton Hospital and a member of the South Manchester Cancer Network MDT and perform cancer surgeries.
In my general gynaecology clinics I tend to see patients with heavy periods, pelvic masses and fibroids, subfertility, pelvic pain, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, recurrent miscarriages, menopausal symptoms and vulval disease. At Leighton hospital I implemented the enhanced recovery programme for gynaecological surgery.
I am the Principal Investigator at Leighton Hospital for the GaPP2 trial which is a multi-centre randomised controlled trial looking at Gabapentin for pelvic pain.
I completed my Diploma in Management in 2012 from the London School of Economics. I am actively involved in recruiting candidates for training posts at both local and regional levels as well as being a chair and panellist at consultant interviews in my trust. I am a mentor for newly appointed consultants.
I am involved in training candidates for the MRCOG examinations and was an RCOG moderator for the Enhanced Revision Programme. I am the departmental lead for Undergraduate Medical Education with the Manchester Medical School. I am also the departmental lead for Physician Associates and have taken part in the first intake of PA trainees at Leighton Hospital.
I have a dedicated menopause clinic at both Spire Regency Hospital and Spire Tarporley Clinic which offers patients suffering from complex menopause symptoms including medical comorbidities, a personalised treatment plan, and support with diagnostics and scans.

I live in Knutsford with my family. My wife is also obstetrician-gynaecologist based at a different hospital. Both my sons are avid cricketers playing in the Cheshire league, my eldest is a wicket keeper batsman and my youngest is a ‘pace bowler’. The final member of our family is a very vivacious and lively cockapoo.
