I have been a surgeon for over 10 years, of which I spent the last several years in the UK. I have an interest in laparoscopic and other ‘minimally invasive’ surgical treatments for a wide range of disorders involving the gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder pathology and OTC, bile duct exploration, inguinal hernia, ventral and umbilical hernia. These procedures are performed open or laparoscopically.
I also specialise in UGI tract pathologies as hiatus hernia, dysphagia and conservative/operative management of reflux disease.
Since 2019 I have been a Consultant Surgeon based at Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust, specialised in Laparoscopic general and UGI Surgery. As part of the UGI service, I work closely within a team of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure we deliver a high quality and safe service for our patients. During my work in the NHS I have performed over 2,000 operations including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia surgery and anti-reflux.
I have a special interest in trauma and emergency surgery beside my special interest in UGI and Laparoscopic surgery. A massive earthquake in 2009 destroyed my city L'Aquila, Italy. This event left a big impact on my personal life and my surgical training, as a result of being on the first-line (surgeon) in a natural disaster zone. That unfortunate event pushed me to my limit, trying to do my best in supporting my patients and others caught up in the crisis.
I am fluent in English and Italian and I would like to advertise the possibility to run clinics in both languages, as this could be helpful for the private patients from the Italian community living in and around Cheshire.
As faculty member of Royal College of Surgeons of London, I participated as a trainer to the RCS Core Skills Laparoscopic Surgery, Liverpool, UK (June 2021). I am also the Lead trainer for the Surgical First Assistance Operative Procedure, with the aim to train nursing staff to become first assistants in surgical procedures (November 2020 - July 2021).

I have a lovely family here in England, with two beautiful daughters and a wonderful wife. We love to spend time together, having nice walks with our dog and enjoying the beautiful British countryside.
I love reading books and I am trying to transmit this passion to my young daughters, reading to them in Italian and English.
