I am a UK-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in lower limb arthroplasty (hip and knee replacement) and trauma surgery. I have a special interest in new treatments for osteoarthritis, especially those related to hip and knee replacement with advanced pain control techniques, enhanced recovery programmes and speedy discharge.
I completed my basic surgical training in Oxford and higher surgical training in the East Midland region where I was trained to high standards. I completed two extra years of training in my sub-specialty in two major university hospitals in preparation for my consultant post: Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge and the University Hospital in Coventry. I have lectured and presented nationally and internationally and have published my research work in numerous international orthopaedic journals.
I was awarded the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFFORT) fellowship when I visited Geneva University hospital and learned many techniques in hip and knee surgery.
