Breast care
Common concerns following surgery can include discomfort, swelling and tightness of the breast. You may be unsure as to how active you can be and at what stage it is safe to return to normal activities or exercise.

  • We can provide a thorough assessment and treatment programme tailored to your individual needs
  • The initial hour long assessment will include an examination, discussion and treatment
  • Your treatment will consist of soft tissue massage and pilates based exercises. A home an exercise programme may be suggested and exercise booklets provided
  • Further sessions are usually for 30 minutes but are very much tailored to your needs

We work closely with our Cosmetic Surgeons and Breast Care Nurse Specialists, enabling patients to achieve not only mobility and function, but with an excellent cosmetic finish following surgery.

 

Incontinence
At Spire South Bank Hospital we understand that incontinence is an embarrassing problem and that the symptoms can affect your personal life, confidence and overall quality of your day to day living.

On your first visit, a detailed medical history will be taken, followed by a thorough assessment of your condition. This usually lasts for up to 60 minutes.

You'll receive expert advice and treatment. This can include:

  •   Bladder retraining
  •   Pelvic floor exercises
  •   Biofeedback
  •   Muscle stimulation
  •   Referral for pilates
  •   Urgent PC for overactive bladder

Our physiotherapist can also refer you to a consultant as required with access to urodynamics, MRI, CT scans, diagnostic ultrasound and X-ray.

Our physiotherapist can also liaise with your GP and provide them with a detailed discharge summary at the end of your treatment.

  •   Prolapse (rectal, bladder, uterine)
  •   Pre-operative and post-operative gynaecological and urological surgery

Sports injury
At Spire South Bank Hospital we have a sports medicine clinic which offers patients rapid access to a high level of sports injury expertise. Our highly trained staff have experience in dealing with athletes of all levels from social to elite status.

Our team of physiotherapists and sports doctors understand the requirement for rapid assessment, treatment and rehabilitation irrespective of your level of participation.

If a sports injury is left untreated, what will happen?
