I am an experienced Dermatologist, having entered the speciality in 1987. Since then, I have accrued over 30 years of experience at leading NHS Trusts.
I qualified in Medicine with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees in 1983 in London, MA at Cambridge University (1985, first class honours), Fellowship of The Royal College of Physicians (1998). Other memberships include British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), The Royal Society of Medicine and St John’s Dermatological Society, over 100 peer-reviewed publications.
Honours include President of St John’s Dermatology Society (2016-2017), President of Dermatology Section, RSM (2020-2021), Consultant Skin Oncologist and Member of Melanoma/Skin Cancer Team at The Royal Marsden Hospitals (2012-2023), Lead Clinician in Skin Cancer at Epsom and St Helier (ESTH) University Hospitals NHS Trust 20 years, Clinical Sub-Dean ESTH (2007-2013).
My specialist interests include mole checks/skin cancer diagnosis, surgical treatment in conjunction with consultant maxillofacial and plastic surgeons, dermoscopy for sub-surface visualisation of suspicious lesions.
Surgical treatment for lipomas and cysts, cosmetic dermatology, and laser treatment are no longer offered. I only see and treat adults at Spire St Anthony's Hospital.
