Virtual consultations:
I have worked in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology for 23 years, the last nine of which I spent in the NHS as a consultant. I specialise in obstetrics and gynaecology with specific interest in: minimal access surgery, hysteroscopy, menstrual problems and abnormal uterine bleeding, benign gynaecology, fibroids, polyps, ovarian cyst management, gynaecology, pelvic pain, one stop gynaecology scanning, menopause and HRT.
I am skilled in transvaginal ultrasound scanning and adnexal masses as acute gynaecological admissions. I also have a reputation as a trainer for the same. I do hysteroscopy, which has therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. I remove fibroid growths and MyoSure polyps on both inpatients and outpatients. I also run clinics for the post menopausal bleeding (PMB) clinic service and referrals with a two week wait. Additionally, I have experience handling these challenging patients with the assistance of a multidisciplinary team.
I often conduct menstrual disorder clinics which includes abnormal uterine bleeding, benign gynaecological problems including diagnosis and management of fibroids, uterine, cervical polyps, ovarian cysts and vaginal skin tags as well as pelvic pain. I specialise in placement of uterine coils for menstrual disorders. I also take relevant biopsies from uterine lining for assessment prior to planning management. I am skilled at performing hysteroscopies for assessment of uterine abnormalities and treatment. I am also proficient in minimally invasive techniques like laparoscopy.
I perform laparoscopic surgeries such oophorectomy, cystectomy, and salpingectomy (ectopic, hydrosalpinx) as well as laparoscopic adhesion division and endometriosis ablation. I have sufficient training in open gynaecological surgeries and have performed plenty of abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies and laparotomies for gynaecological conditions.
I employ safe entrance procedures when doing a laparoscopy. I am well-versed in the fundamentals of excellent gynaecological surgery and have performed a sizeable number of major, intermediate, and small gynaecological surgeries. I have performed the majority of common surgical procedures, including pelvic floor repair, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH), abdominal hysterectomy, and vaginal hysterectomy.
I was a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2007 and was awarded Fellowship of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRCOG) in 2019. From 2018 to 2023, I oversaw two sites as the lead for acute gynaecology and early pregnancy.
