Specialises in
I am an experienced Consultant Dermatologist who has spent over 25 years working in the field and I treat both adults and children.
I undertook my specialist dermatology training in London, gaining a wide breadth of experience working at various hospitals but predominantly at St John's Institute of Dermatology, a highly prestigious national centre of excellence, where I was trained by leading experts. I was appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 1999, where I developed and led the skin allergy service as well as looking after inpatients and patients with dermatological emergencies. Alongside this, my job involved working at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton, running busy dermatology clinics and treating a wide range of skin conditions. I went on to work in the Skin Cancer Screening Clinic there and became a core member of the joint St George's and Queen Mary's Hospitals Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team.
As a highly experienced dermatologist, I am skilled in all general dermatology. My areas of interest include acne and treatment with Isotretinoin, mole reviews including dermoscopy examination, skin cancer screening, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and acute rashes. I place a high value on a compassionate approach to looking after my patients, understanding the significant psychological impact skin, hair and nail disease can have on individuals. I regularly receive excellent patient feedback.
I have numerous dermatology publications in peer reviewed journals and have contributed to book chapters. I have also presented at national and international meetings and received a prize for one of my presentations from the British Association of Dermatologists. I have trained numerous junior doctors in dermatology over my career and continue to deliver lectures and educational meetings for GPs. I am a highly committed doctor with a strong passion for my specialty.
