Specialises in
I have been a Consultant ENT Surgeon, specialising in ear disease and balance disorders, based in London and Surrey for two and half years. My NHS practice is based at St George's University Hospital in London and at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals in Sutton and Surrey. I qualified from Bristol University in 2008 and I also hold a BSc in Neuroscience, a Masters in Surgical Science and Practice from Oxford University, completed in 2019. I trained in several hospitals across Kent, Surrey and Sussex which included working at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London and specialist paediatric training at Brighton University Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
I specialise in ear surgery and hearing restorative surgery but I also still have a thriving general ENT practice in adult and paediatric ENT surgery in the NHS and privately.
To date I have completed hundreds of adult and paediatric tonsillectomies, grommet insertions and adenoidectomies. I also offer intracapsular coblation tonsillectomy to children and adults. I have completed over 100 myringoplasties/tympanoplasties (surgery to repair a hole in the ear drum) and 80 mastoid ear surgeries. I have been a surgeon in ENT for over 11 years.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities I am passionate about improving healthcare which is why I co-founded the development of the Tympa Heath Hearing screen pilot that started in September 2022, which received funding to improve ear wax removal and basic hearing assessments across three NHS South West London boroughs and we have now seen almost 4,000 patients through this pilot. I am responsible for recruitment of junior doctors, and oversee their rota at St George's Hospital. I also provide pastoral and educational support to two trainees at St George's and I am a clinical supervisor for a specialist associate doctor in ENT at Epsom and St Helier Hospital. Additionally, I am now involved in trying to set up same day emergency care treatment for tonsillitis treatment at St George's Hospital.
I have varied research interests and I am currently the Principals Investigator at St George's for a National Study looking at improving outcome in Necrotising Otitis Externa, which is a life threatening ear infection.
