I graduated from King Edward Medical College Lahore Pakistan in 1984 and received my basic surgical training at Mayo Hospital Lahore, Pakistan. I achieved my Fellowship at College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS) in 1991. After obtaining my FRCSI in 1991 and FRCS (Eng) in 1992, I joined South West Thames Higher Surgical Training Scheme. During this training, I completed my MSc in Surgical Sciences in 1996 from the University of London, Diploma in Medical Education in 1997 from Cardiff and Intercollegiate FRCS in 1998. I achieved my certificate of completion of surgical training (CCST) in 1999.
My special interests are colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, faecal incontinence and pelvic floor disorders, anorectal diseases, hernia surgery and gallbladder disease. I am an experienced laparoscopic surgeon. I am experienced in diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy including OGD and colonoscopy.
I am involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students and nurses. I am a tutor for the endoscopy course at the Royal College of Surgeons England, Assessor for Royal College of Surgeons England, Director of Clinical Audit and Clinical Lead for Endoscopy in Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust.
