FRCS(Orth) Dip Hand Surg(Br)
Specialises in
I have been working as an Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2010, and as a specialist Hand and Wrist Surgeon since 2018. My areas of interest include minimally invasive (key hole) treatment methods for nerve compressions affecting the hand, wrist and the elbow, sports injuries of the upper extremity, arthritis of the fingers, thumb and the wrist, and fractures involving the hand, wrist, and elbow. I offer patient-centered and holistic care to patients presenting with common conditions such as Dupuytren's contracture, trigger finger(s), golfer's and tennis elbow.
My area of expertise includes functional rehabilitation (splints, injections and physiotherapy) for overuse/repetitive strain injuries, use of patient specific implants manufactured by 3D printing technology, and WALANT (Wide Awake Local Anaesthesia and No Tourniquet) surgery for the majority of the conditions affecting the hand and wrist.
I work in a multidisciplinary team comprising of therapists, radiologists and anaesthetists providing evidence based research backed by robust scientific input. I offer open and keyhole carpal tunnel surgery, fracture surgery using fracture specific implant enabling patients to recover faster, osteotomy (recreating a fracture and restoring the original alignment of the bone) for malunion (fractures which have healed in an abnormal position) of the fingers and wrist, joint denervation for arthritis, targeted injections for wrist pain and joint replacement surgery.
I perform around 400 orthopaedic procedures annually, in both my NHS and private hospitals, with approximately 70% of them confined to the hand, wrist and elbow. I take pride in providing high quality of care to my patients reflected in the patient reported outcome scores, and high satisfaction on patient surveys.
I am a fellowship trained hand and wrist surgeon working in the NHS and private hospitals across London and Surrey. I successfully completed the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) accredited diploma in Hand Surgery. I trained in major trauma centres in the UK (Leeds, Newcastle and Aberdeen), and completed the higher surgical specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics working at various teaching hospitals in South West London and Surrey. My specialist hand surgery training was in the UK's premier hand surgery centres, and undertook a prestigious fellowship at Prince of Wales Hospital Sha Tin Hong Kong.
Teaching is my passion, and I am involved in teaching aspiring surgeons and undergraduates from St George's University and King's College London. I teach on postgraduate examination courses, and am employed as a Surgical Tutor by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I am a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH), American Society of Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and Asia Pacific Wrist Association (APWA).
