Virtual consultations:
I fell in love with my specialty from the first time I walked onto a labour ward as a medical student in London in the 1980s and watched the birth of a baby. From then onwards I wanted to be an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. After qualification I trained in South London, Oxford and Bristol regions, finally specialising in the field of reproductive medicine as lecturer to Professor Lord Robert Winston at Hammersmith Hospital.
I have many areas of interest including pelvic pain, heavy and irregular period problems; menorrhagia; uterine abnormalities (fibroids and polyps); Gynaecological ultrasound/scanning; Colposcopy (examination of cervix and vagina); Fertility investigation and treatment/infertility and assisted conception; Minimal access/invasive surgery; menopause management (hot flushes, altered libido and mood; hysteroscopic surgery; premenstrual tension; miscarriage management and prevention including recurrent miscarriage; paediatric and adolescent gynaecology; labial and perineal abnormalities; prolapse management including surgery; colposcopy; vulvoscopy.
I am a trained paediatric and adolescent gynaecologist belonging to the British Society for Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology and an accredited colposcopist. I regularly undertake pelvic floor prolapse management including surgery and am an accredited colposcopist.
I am an accredited teacher and instructor for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the British Fertility Society (BFS) and was instrumental in the creation of the IVF unit at Epsom & St Helier NHS University Trust which I lead. As a reproductive specialist I provide diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment for conditions affecting fertility such as endometriosis, fibroids, uterine abnormalities, tubal factor infertility and evidence based recurrent miscarriage management.
