I have been a Foot and Ankle Surgeon for over 10 years and am an expert in complex deformity corrections using a combination of open and minimally invasive techniques to minimise soft tissue trauma, post operative swelling and to allow for a speedier recovery.
These techniques also allow for early weight bearing post operatively in the majority of cases, allowing for less joint stiffness and a quicker return to life, work and sporting activities.
I have a wide experience in managing all aspects of elective and trauma foot and ankle surgery – from the basic to more complex surgery. This includes minimally invasive foot surgery bunions, complex reconstructive hindfoot and midfoot surgery, tendon and ligament reconstructions and transfers, as well as keyhole surgery and joint replacements.
My specialist interest is complex diabetic charcot reconstructive surgery and any tendon surgery.
Over the 10 years as a consultant, I have gained a wide amount of experience in foot and ankle surgery. My practice is evidence based and patient satisfaction is high as supported by my appraisal feedback forms.
I am a big advocate of patient centred care and so advise on the best possible treatment based on individual needs and expectations.
I have been the Clinical Lead for Foot and Ankle Surgery at our NHS Trust for eight years. This role has allowed me to expand the department to include more surgeons, fellow(s) and do complex work in a multidisciplinary forum.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Natasha Hossain at Spire include:
Orthopaedics - ankle and foot

In my spare time when I am not ferrying my children around to their activities I spend my time sketching, going on walks, cake decorating and cooking.
I relax by practicing Hatha and Vin yoga and have recently found some lovely local yoga retreats.
My other interests include charitable work – nationally I do the Shine Walk every year and internationally I help run a medical charity in Bangladesh where we help pay for treatment for diabetic patients and run free clinics for the local population.
