Ms Melanie Thorn

Ms Melanie Thorn

Physiotherapy Outpatient Team Lead/Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist

BSc Physiotherapy, MSc module in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

My specific areas of interest include sports injuries, injury prevention and post op orthopaedic rehabilitation. I also have a specific interest in hydrotherapy and its use for early post operative recovery.

I graduated from the University of the West of England in 2015 as a qualified Physiotherapist. I completed my junior core rotations at East Surrey Hospital prior to making the transition into private practice to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy as a senior physiotherapist in 2018.

My passion lies within exercise rehabilitation and ensuring patients achieve their physiotherapy goals. I have extensive experience in treating acute and chronic sports injuries from working part-time for a National 2 rugby club where I provided pitch side immediate care and ran a clinic weekly diagnosing and treating sports injuries.

I am always striving to improve my clinical knowledge, and I have recently completed a masters module in Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation at the University of Hertfordshire. I have also completed my level 1 and 2 matwork pilates, acupuncture, aquatic therapy, NMR imaging and shockwave qualifications.
