Dr Emma Hughes

Consultant Interventional Radiologist

BSc MBBS MRCS FRCR

"Such a fabulous team to work with at Spire. From the moment I step through those doors I feel truly at home as one of their doctors."

After graduating as a medical doctor from the Royal Free and University College Hospitals Medical School in 2000, I began my training in surgery. In 2004, I commenced my training in Clinical Radiology at the Imperial hospitals, London. I was appointed as a Hospital Consultant in 2012 at the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation and am the Consultant Lead for Head and Neck. I am also a specialist in breast radiology with over 15 years' experience.

With more than 22 years' experience as an NHS Doctor and 10 years as a Consultant, I have performed thousands of fine needle procedures. Being a head and neck and breast specialist with such a wealth of knowledge I am able to target injections into areas where anatomical detail matters. This has proved safe and valuable in terms of my cosmetic injectable service which I also provide.

I am passionate about safety. I use my intricate knowledge of anatomy and where required, utilise my skills in imaging guidance to ensure safe injections. This is particularly important in complex areas of the face where placement of product has to be absolutely precise.

I am able to offer anti wrinkle cosmetic injections, soft tissue fillers, cryopen for the removal of benign skin lesions and SkinPen® Precision microneedling.

As an expert interventional Radiologist in soft tissue ultrasound, I am able to offer fat dissolving injections to areas including the double chin, arm pit, and tummy.

I have 16 years' experience in using botulinum toxin for various treatments, including sialorrhea (excess salivation) and hyperhidrosis (excess sweating). Other services include breast, head and neck imaging interventional procedures including biopsy.
