"World class healthcare in the patients' locality."

I have been involved in surgery and endoscopy for 27 years and a consultant surgeon for 14 years as examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. I have spent years training other consultants in minimally invasive surgery in training centres in Paris, Hamburg and the UK.
I specialise in less painful keyhole hernia repairs and perform over 100 each year. My approach to helping hernia patients has benefited myself undergoing a laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. Consequently, most of my patients have minimal discomfort and return to full activity and sport within a week or two of surgery.
My other specialist practice is in colonoscopy and all aspects of bowel surgery such as the modern management of haemorrhoids, colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, anal fissures, pilonidal sinuses and anal fistulae and the rapid investigation of rectal bleeding, altered bowel habit and abdominal or anal pain.Â
I specialise in minimally invasive hernia and colorectal surgery.
I pride myself on having first-class, honest, reassuring communication with patients and their next of kin to help them through their surgical procedures. I have performed over 3,000 colonoscopies and hernia repairs and 2,000 haemorrhoid operations in the past 27 years.Â
I was appointed as a consultant surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital to initiate the provision of laparoscopic TEP hernia repairs and laparoscopic colorectal surgery there and I am an examiner for The Royal College of Surgeons.Â
I was awarded a Masters degree for research into Inflammatory Bowel Disease and I have spent years training other consultant surgeons in laparoscopic colorectal surgery in France, Germany and the UK.Â
