ENT is a broad specialty involving the treatment of many conditions and the alleviation of symptoms to improve quality of life. I believe that each patient must be provided with information on the various available treatment options both surgical and non-surgical to enable them to make an informed choice in developing an individually tailored treatment plan.
I attended medical school at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, London and qualified in 1999. I undertook my surgical training on the south coast, West Midlands and London, including Great Ormond Street Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. I was then awarded a prestigious National Interface Fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
I started as a consultant ENT/head and neck surgeon at Wexham Park Hospital and honorary consultant ENT/head and neck surgeon at Northwick Park Hospital in 2011.
My main area of practice is in head and neck surgery including the treatment of head and neck cancer, thyroid and salivary gland problems. I also undertake a full general adult and children's (paediatric) ENT practice, which includes neck lumps, swallowing and voice problems, nose and sinus problems, hearing and balance problems and snoring.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Ram Moorthy at Spire include:
Ear Nose and Throat (ENT)

I grew up in South London and attended Dulwich College. Following graduation from medical school, I have lived in a variety of places including Bournemouth and Birmingham. I now live locally in Wexham with my wife, who is also an ENT surgeon.
After 25 years of competitive rugby as a schoolboy and adult, I recently hung up my boots but still enjoy following domestic and international matches. I am a keen cricketer and looking forward to playing for a local club in the forthcoming season.
My wife and I enjoy travelling with recent trips to the Far East, Caribbean, USA and India, especially if we are able to scuba dive! My other interests include fine food, films and reading.
