Mr Samer Jallad

Consultant Urology Surgeon

MBBS MSc PhD FRCS(Urol)

"The atmosphere is supportive and the staff are dedicated to offer patients the best treatment environment."

I am a consultant urology surgeon at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

In addition to general urology and core urogenital disorders, I have an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate hypertrophy and bladder outflow obstruction as well as a specialist interest in adopting new technology and utilising minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of urological conditions including bladder cancer, bladder dysfunction and benign prostate hypertrophy.

During my time as a Consultant at Frimley Health, I have always been passionate about improving patient care where possible, introducing new services including outpatient laser treatment for bladder cancer and rapid access lower urinary tract symptoms service for men. In addition; investing in day case bladder cancer surgery and reducing the need for post operative hospital admissions by >50%, adopting narrow band imaging and blue light cystoscopy for better diagnostic abilities. I was the winner of the Frimley Health CEO challenge for change in 2020; a testament to my hard work and effort in quality improvement.

I qualified from medical school in 2003 and then went on to complete the higher specialist training in Urology at North-West Thames which included rotations at The Royal Marsden and Imperial College Healthcare. In addition to this, I completed a Master’s degree from Cardiff University in advanced surgical practice and was awarded a PhD in Urology from Brighton and Sussex Universities for my research in clinical and molecular biomarkers related to bladder cancer treatment.

I am very passionate about research and academic work, and have presented in many national and international conferences and have been widely published in peer-reviewed journals.
