I have been a Consultant Neuroradiologist at Newcastle Regional Neurosciences Centre since 1999. During this period, I have also served as Head of Service, and as Chair of the Trust's Information Systems Strategy Board.
I completed Medical School at Cambridge University before training as a Physician in Bristol and Queensland. I undertook my general radiological training in Manchester and completed my higher neuroradiological training in Perth, Western Australia. Additional higher degrees include a Distinction in MBA from Newcastle University Business School; and my MD Thesis for studies into adolescent scoliosis.
I am a senior editor at the British Journal of Radiology; and have been on the Board of the British Society of Neuroradiology. I continue to have a national role on behalf of the Society as lead for national benchmarking.

I have active research interests, and have published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. My current research activity centres on the neuro-psychological aspects of image interpretation and on organisational functionality.
