Virtual consultations:
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon currently working at Sunderland Royal Hospital. I specialise in treating patients with neck and back problems. Treatment is tailored to each individual patient, and can range from non-surgical methods such as physiotherapy and injections to surgery, when appropriate. I perform microdiscectomy, decompression surgery, fusion surgery and vertebroplasty.
I underwent my orthopaedic training in the northern region, with a special interest in spinal surgery. I then pursued the reputed AO Spine Fellowship at the Princess Alexandra, Mater and Lady Cilento Children’s Hospitals in Brisbane. I am a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and Eurospine.
I enjoy teaching and I am a faculty on various courses, and I also convene the FRCS course for trainees. I have published in both national and international journals.
