I offer a specialist foot and ankle service at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead. I offer a bespoke approach, tailored to each patient’s specific problem. I have a special interest in treatment of young patients with arthritis and soft tissue reconstructive surgery for sport related injuries around the ankle joint.
I completed my Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in the Northern Deanery, Newcastle upon Tyne. I held an Advanced Surgical Training Fellowship placement in Foot and Ankle Surgery at The Sheffield University Hospital and was a proud winner of BOFAS visiting Fellowship at Zurich.
I travel across the world to keep my skills up to date with new emerging techniques treating these injuries. I am clear and honest in my communication about any procedure, rehabilitation and likely outcome.
I have a certificate degree in evidence based orthopaedics (EBO) from Middlesbrough University. I play an active role in junior doctor education and training orthopaedic surgeons.

I am now the chair of the multi disciplinary team (MDT) meetings with radiologists and the microbiologists at QE for effective running of Foot & Ankle Department.
My pioneering work and surgical expertise is reflected by my active involvement in the clinical research related to foot and ankle surgery. I have published extensively and have presented work both nationally and internationally. This work has directly led to the effective management and algorithm development in his practice to treat Achilles tendinopathy and sport injuries.
I am the reviewer for Foot and Ankle Atlas for Royal College of Surgeons (RCS England).
I have authored the Foot & Ankle book chapter for Postgraduate Orthopaedics: The Candidate’s Guide to the FRCS (Tr&Orth) Examination 3E.

Recent interest: I have developed this new interest in running long distances. I am proud of successfully completing my first Great North Run Half Marathon in 2016 in under two hours.
Cricket: I have always been a strong team player and have occasionally led my team in school and college cricket tournaments. This has given me a deep insight in understanding and treating sport related injuries around the foot and ankle joints.
Chess: Chess is another passion. I play online chess in my leisure time. I have participated in many school and college chess competitions.
