I graduated from Grant Medical College and JJ Hospital, Mumbai in 1989. Subsequently I undertook postgraduate surgical training, obtaining a Master of Surgery from the University of Mumbai in 1992.
I completed higher surgical training in North East London and was awarded FRCS (Gen) in 2008. I also undertook a period of research at Royal Free Hospital, London, which is a renowned centre for research in Nanotechnology. I was awarded an MD by the University College London in 2013.
My clinical practise comprises of all aspects of General and upper GI surgery, including laparoscopic and open complex hernia surgery, gallbladder operations, antireflux surgery, benign gastric resectional surgery and upper GI endoscopies. I have extensive experience in laparoscopic upper GI surgery.
I am a keen teacher, clinical and educational supervisor for foundation trainees at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead.
