I am a General and Vascular Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, and have been since 2002. I completed the Sauvage Vascular Fellowship in Seattle, USA from 1997 to 1999, and have trained in the Mersey and Northern Deanery.
I am an examiner for the FRCS Intercollegiate Specialty Board for Surgery. I have edited two textbooks in vascular surgery and published more than 70 papers in international journals. I have also completed a fellowship of the North East Leadership Academy.
After a long tenure as Clinical Lead in Surgery, I have now stepped up to the post of Associate Medical Director (Quality and Safety).
My special interests include varicose veins, gall bladder, hernia and peripheral vascular surgery.
