I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. I undertake surgery on most conditions of the lower limb with a special interest in joint replacement surgery, especially patient specific, robotic and partial replacement in the knee. I also undertake arthroscopic surgery, ACL reconstruction and cartilage regeneration procedures like micro-fracture and stem cells. In the foot and ankle I undertake forefoot reconstruction and ankle surgery.

Over the years, I have performed over 1,200 total knee replacements, 900 total hip replacements, 700 arthroscopies and 90 ACL reconstructions.

I have been training or working as an orthopaedic surgeon since 1992. After training in the UK, Ireland and USA, and having previously worked abroad in a consultant capacity, I was appointed as a substantive NHS consultant in 2010. I have been on the GMC Specialist Register since February 2010. I have a particular expertise in joint replacement surgery, especially patient specific and partial replacements in the knee. I was awarded knee fellowships in Bournemouth and Basildon.

I have an interest in teaching and academic orthopaedics. I was the Principal Investigator for the Basildon site in the multi centre PATH 2 trial, looking into the role of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) in the treatment of acute Achilles tendon injuries.

I have also published book chapters and papers in peer reviewed journals.

Below is feedback from some of my patients at Spire Wellesley Hospital:

'Excellent consultant'

'The consultant explained everything including things that could go wrong. As I had an extra problem that could have been affected by the surgery he investigated it and explained the problem giving me the option to pull out if I was worried. To me the pros outweighed the cons'
