Virtual consultations:
I have more than 15 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, and have special skills accreditation in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for treatment of fibroids, pelvic pain, endometriosis, infertility and menstrual disorders and early stage endometrial cancers.
At Spire Wellesley Hospital I see patients with pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, vulval problems, menopausal problems, fibroids and endometriosis. I have special expertise in the investigation and treatment of heavy and irregular periods, including the use of the Mirena System and NovaSure endometrial ablation. I am able to offer these treatments in an Outpatient setting when these are the patient's wishes.
To investigate abnormal bleeding, including post-menopausal bleeding, I perform diagnostic hysteroscopy to visualise the inside of the womb. I also perform Essure Hysteroscopic sterilisation in an Outpatient setting.
I perform laparoscopic (keyhole surgery) hysterectomy as an alternative to abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, which reduces the hospital stay for the patient, recovery time and scarring. I also perform laparoscopic removal of cysts and ovaries.
I qualified in medicine from one of the best medical schools in India, with a distinction and a University Gold Medal. I then did my postgraduate Gynaecological residency programme, leading on to the MS degree.
After coming to the UK in 2003, I trained in a good tertiary hospital in Belfast and then did my higher Gynaecological training in some of the best hospitals such as St Mary's and Chelsea in London to obtain focussed training in Gynaecology and Minimal Access surgery. Following completion of my specialist training I completed a Fellowship in Gynaecological Oncology at Oxford. I am happy that I was trained by some of the world leading experts in Gynaecology.
In 2012 I was appointed as a Consultant at Southend Hospital NHS Trust where my special areas of interest are Outpatient Hysteroscopy, Minimal access surgery including keyhole hysterectomy for early stage endometrial cancers and Colposcopy.
I believe in the importance of patient choice and offering a range of treatment options, empowering patients to reach suitable treatment decisions tailored for their individual needs. I am committed to providing high quality care for all my patients, and give patients adequate time to understand the nature of their problems.

I am married to a Haematologist and am delighted that I get quick medical advice on Haematology (blood conditions). Outside of work, most of my free time is taken up by my young family. I also enjoy walking, cycling and watching TV, although currently my favourite TV show is CBeebies as I am made to watch cartoons with my daughter.
