Specialises in
I qualified as a doctor in 1992. My cardiac training was predominantly based at University College Hospital and The Heart Hospital in London where I trained in general cardiology and interventional cardiology. I completed my training in Bristol where I focussed on interventional cardiology, heart failure, complex pacing and adult congenital and structural heart disease. I made the move from Bristol in 2009 in order to be closer to my family and was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
My practice focuses on the management of heart failure and pacing/complex device therapy, investigation, screening and management of coronary artery disease including invasive and CT angiography and adult congenital and structural heart disease. My practice also includes other aspects of general cardiology including hypertension, arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, chest pain and syncope. I also have an interest in cardiovascular screening and believe that as a cardiologist it is important to focus on the prevention of cardiovascular disease at the first opportunity.
I spent three years at St George’s Hospital Medical School and the Heart Hospital in London researching cardiomyopathy, heart failure and sudden cardiac death and have extensively published in this field. I am the consultant lead for device therapy, congenital cardiac disease and CT angiography. I continue to be involved in research and publish regularly.
