MRCP, FRCR
I have been a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Sussex Cancer Centre since 2010. I completed my training in Clinical Oncology in London, working at Mount Vernon Hospital, University College Hospital and the Royal Free Hampstead. I was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in 2008. In order to further my interest in technical radiotherapy I opted to embark upon a Fellowship year at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto where I gained enormous experience in Image Guided Radiotherapy techniques.
I specialise in the treatment of prostate and bladder cancer and also radiotherapy for the treatment of haematological malignancies (lymphoma and myeloma). Since working at the Sussex Cancer Centre I have initiated the development of Image Guided Radiotherapy for the treatment of prostate and bladder cancer. I also introduced and developed the current high dose rate prostate brachytherapy service at BSUH, meaning shorter treatment duration for cancer patients.
I am the clinical lead for prostate brachytherapy and radiotherapy at the Sussex Cancer Centre.
In addition to my clinical work I am an Educational Supervisor for doctors in training and hold regular teaching sessions for medical students and doctors in training. I am involved in writing exam scenarios for oncologists in training. I regularly attend national and international meetings to stay abreast of oncological advances.
I welcome discussions with family members as part of my regular practice (assuming my patient, to whom I have ultimate responsibility) has consented to this.
