MB BChir, MA, FRCA,FFFPMRCA
I have treated patients with chronic pain for over 20 years focusing on a holistic approach and helping patients to make the best choice of many treatment options.
After gaining a medical degree in Cambridge I have trained as a specialist followed by further training in Pain Medicine in Auckland, New Zealand and a Pain Medicine Fellowship in Bristol. I was first appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in 2000.
My interests include reducing patient reliance on medication and discussion of lifestyle factors which can be causing or contributing to pain.
I am a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine. I have presented research on lumbar facet joint injections at the British Pain Society and I continue to investigate long term patient outcomes following injection treatments. I have an interest in teaching as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School and co-directs Royal College of Surgeons Trauma courses.
