I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon based at the Royal Sussex Country and Princess Royal Hospitals. I have a number of sub-specialty and clinical interests: keyhole surgery for large kidney stones, lithotripsy and minimally invasive surgery for benign prostatic enlargement. I am the clinic lead for stone surgery within the trust, and am helping to develop a regional stone service for Sussex.
I trained in medicine at Guy's and St Thomas’s hospitals and qualified with an MDDS and a BSc in clinical anatomy. After rotating through the Royal Marsden Hospital I spent two years researching novel gene expression in human prostates at University College London and was awarded an MD. My urological training was largely based in London, with two years spent at St George's Hospital specialising in the management of stone disease. I was awarded the Keith Yates Gold medal for outstanding performance in the intercollegiate examination for Great Britain and Ireland in 2009.
My main clinical focus is improving outcomes for stones. I have recently introduced the only static lithotripter in Sussex, and am able to provide access to lithotripsy.
I have published in peer review journals, presented at international conferences, and have written several book chapters.
