To begin with, you’ll come in for an initial consultation where your consultant will determine how best to go about your procedure. That may entail keyhole surgery using small incisions, or open surgery which is a little more invasive. Both are routine but the latter may involve you staying in hospital with us for a few days afterwards.
On the day, the team will escort you to your private room where you can relax until the team in the operating theatre is ready. You’ll then be given general anaesthetic and can expect the procedure to take a few hours at the most.
