I specialise in general orthopaedic surgery with a specific interest in lower limb joint replacements (arthroplasty), complex joint replacements, revision arthroplasty, metastases to the lower limbs, hip surgery, knee surgery, lower limb surgery, sports injuries, knee arthroscopies, computer navigated surgery.
I am a high volume arthroplasty surgeon performing over 200 joint replacements per year.
I am also an Associate Lecturer to the University of Cambridge with a particular interest in undergraduate teaching. I completed my specialist training on the NE Thames Training programme. During my training programme I completed an MD on the clinical and histopathological review of patients who had received cartilage transplants in the knee. I achieved the FRCS Tr and Orth in 2008. I gained additional fellowship experience in Vancouver Canada, San Diego USA, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore and an AO Fellowship in trauma in Berlin. During my fellowships I gained considerable experience in patients with complex joint problems particularly in revision arthroplasty. I recently completed the prestigious Rothman-Ranawatt travelling fellowship in North America. I also have a keen interest in sport and I am a pitch side medic to Cambridge Rugby.
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge with a subspecialist interest in hip and knee surgery. I am the Lead for the Management of Lower limb metastases at Addenbrooke's Hospital. I was also recently the lead for the management of Hip Fractures at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
