Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I am a double fellowship-trained consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon with an NHS practice at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool and private practice at Spire Murrayfield, Wirral.
I specialise in the management of hand and wrist conditions. I am available for consultations in the NHS and in the private sector.
I qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1999. Following early surgical training in Portsmouth, I completed Higher Specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Edinburgh and Wessex deaneries, incorporating a six-month trauma fellowship at University Hospital Coventry.
I successfully passed my final specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic examinations in 2013, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh - FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics). I was awarded my Certificate of Completion of Training by the General Medical Council in 2015.
I completed my training with an 18-month fellowship in Hand and Wrist surgery at the highly prestigious Wrightington Hospital, acknowledged as an Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence.
I offer specialist management of Hand and Wrist surgical conditions, with a focus on minimally invasive, treatment of Dupuytren’s disease and, wherever possible, utilises the technique of Wide-awake surgery to minimise anaesthetic complications. Although surgery may be needed, where appropriate I will always try safe and simple non-operative measures such as injections and hand therapy before surgery.
My practice is almost exclusively Hand and Wrist incorporating both elective surgery and the management of Hand and Wrist trauma referred to me in my capacity as a major trauma consultant at the Merseyside and Cheshire Major Trauma Centre.
